Doral Jacobsen, MBA, FACMPE, is a founding partner of Prosper Beyond. She is a seasoned healthcare consultant with more than 20 years’ experience serving healthcare providers ranging from solo practitioners to large academic medical centers. She is a popular speaker and author, always looking around the corner to help her clients prepare for what’s next. Jacobsen is known for assisting practices with next-generation managed care contract negotiations, revenue cycle and payment reform. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in health services and obtained her master’s in business administration from Webster University in Denver. She has authored numerous articles on medical practice revenue cycle, payer contracting and payment reform and is a frequent speaker at national, regional and local healthcare forums.  Most recently, Doral co-authored MGMA’s new book titled Transitioning to Alternative Payment Models: A Guide to Next Generation Managed Care Contracting published October 2016.

Nanci Robertson, M.A., BSN, RN is a founding partner in Prosper Beyond. She is a health care consultant with 30 years of experience working in the health care field. Her primary emphasis is negotiating managed care contracts on behalf of physicians, Independent Practice Associations and ancillary providers.

Prior to becoming a consultant in 2000, Nanci worked in several clinical positions as a Registered Nurse. Her managed care experience included managing and directing the Health Services, Provider Relations and Contracting Departments for Cigna Healthcare of Colorado, Inc. Additionally, Nanci served as the Site Administrator for Phy-Cor, responsible for the implementation of full risk hospital and physician contracts for Medicare and commercial risk products.

Most recently, Nanci spends her time putting together the puzzle pieces of health care reform. Her primary goal is to assist clients in visualizing how they fit into the big picture in a rapidly changing environment. Most recently, Nanci co-authored MGMA’s new book titled Transitioning to Alternative Payment Models: A Guide to Next Generation Managed Care Contracting published October 2016.

Ellen Burkett, MD is Prosper Beyond’s Medical Director. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and is a practicing primary care physician at SouthPark Internal Medicine in Colorado. Dr. Burkett is a pioneer in health care transformation. She founded one of the first clinically integrated networks in the country (MedSouth IPA) in 2002. In addition to serving the community as a primary care physician, she is currently the Clinical Director and Vice President for MedSouth IPA (110 providers), and President of Colorado Health Neighborhoods, a 4,000 member Accountable Care Organization (ACO). Her practice has NCQA Certification for Heart/Stroke, is recognized by NCQA as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home, and they participates in the Million Hearts and State Innovation Models.

Dr. Burkett graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and attended medical school at the University of Texas, Southwestern. Dr Burkett is a passionate about assisting clinicians in navigating the value-based healthcare ecosystem and is skilled at effectively communicating practical guidance to drive success.
